Body of divorced father of five found in river

-

KUCHING: The body of a man, who was last seen two days ago, was recovered from the river at Kampung Bako yesterday morning.

The 37-year- old divorced father of five, identified as Muzali Mumin, was said to have made his way from his house at Kampung Tabuan Melayu to visit his children staying with their mother at Kampung Bako on Tuesday night.

However, his children were not around at their mother’s house when he arrived, and he was last seen by villagers hanging out alone at a terminal by the river.

When he did not return to his own village, family members suspected that he had fallen into the river and began searching along the river the following day.

Local villagers managed to locate his body, clad in a black shirt and shorts, around 8am yesterday and handed over the remains to the police who transported it to Sarawak General Hospital.

District police chief ACP Abang Ahmad Abang Julai, who confirmed the incident, said the identity of the deceased was confirmed by his father, and the case has been classified as sudden death.
