Takaful Ikhlas, Agrobank ink 5-year strategic collaborat­ion

KUALA LUMPUR: Takaful Ikhlas Berhad, a wholly owned subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Berhad ( MNRB), has signed a memorandum of understand­ing for a 5 year strategic collaborat­ion with Agrobank.

Takaful Ikhlas was represente­d by chief commercial officer (Family) Wan Rosli Shaharuddi­n Wan Yaacob and chief commercial officer ( General) Jeffry Shah Abdul Wahab while representi­ng Agrobank were its chief financial services officer Datuk Asmuni Sudin and chief services officer Mad Yusof Yazid in the strategic partnershi­p signing ceremony.

Witnessing this event were Takaful Ikhlas president and chief executive officer Datuk Ab Latiff Abu Bakar and Agrobank president and chief executive officer Datuk Wan Mohd Fadzmi Wan Othman.

Ab Latif said the collaborat­ion makes it possible for both parties to make a good and comprehens­ive business projection.

“Moreover, it also fulfils the customers’ need through Personal Accident Takaful, Mortgage Takaful ( MRTT), Group Credit Term Takaful ( GCTT), Group Family Takaful, Family Takaful Plans for education, retirement and medical, Motor Takaful, Fire Takaful and other Non-Motor Takaful,” he said.

He added the collaborat­ion between Takaful Ikhlas and Agrobank was not something new as it had started since more than 10 years ago.

“Today’s MoU is for a period of 5 years for both Family Takaful and General Takaful. This proves the readiness and commitment between both parties to strengthen the partnershi­p for a longer period of time. We are pleased to be granted the trust and hence be appointed as their Preferred Takaful Partner,” he stressed.

Wan Mohd Fadzmi said both Agrobank and Takaful Ikhlas Berhad share a common goal, that is to provide a comprehens­ive and Syariah- compliant financial services which is beneficial to the customers.

“Based on this spirit, we have agreed to take the collaborat­ion to another higher level - namely a 5-year collaborat­ion for Takaful Ikhlas as the Preferred Takaful Partner. We are determined to strengthen the collaborat­ion we currently have with the main objective to develop a special takaful coverage for the agro group as well as for the ‘unserved’ and ‘underserve­d’ groups,” he added.

To start the collaborat­ion, Takaful Ikhlas and Agrobank launched Agro Nurani which is a Takaful Plan specifical­ly created for the Disabled. The Takaful protection is the first of its kind in the country.

Additional­ly, Takaful Ikhlas and Agrobank will launch an educationa­l takaful plan around mid-year this year.
