KUALA LUMPUR: Takaful Ikhlas Berhad, a wholly owned subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Berhad ( MNRB), has signed a memorandum of understanding for a 5 year strategic collaboration with Agrobank.

Takaful Ikhlas was represented by chief commercial officer (Family) Wan Rosli Shaharuddin Wan Yaacob and chief commercial officer ( General) Jeffry Shah Abdul Wahab while representing Agrobank were its chief financial services officer Datuk Asmuni Sudin and chief services officer Mad Yusof Yazid in the strategic partnership signing ceremony.

Witnessing this event were Takaful Ikhlas president and chief executive officer Datuk Ab Latiff Abu Bakar and Agrobank president and chief executive officer Datuk Wan Mohd Fadzmi Wan Othman.

Ab Latif said the collaboration makes it possible for both parties to make a good and comprehensive business projection.

“Moreover, it also fulfils the customers’ need through Personal Accident Takaful, Mortgage Takaful ( MRTT), Group Credit Term Takaful ( GCTT), Group Family Takaful, Family Takaful Plans for education, retirement and medical, Motor Takaful, Fire Takaful and other Non-Motor Takaful,” he said.

He added the collaboration between Takaful Ikhlas and Agrobank was not something new as it had started since more than 10 years ago.

“Today’s MoU is for a period of 5 years for both Family Takaful and General Takaful. This proves the readiness and commitment between both parties to strengthen the partnership for a longer period of time. We are pleased to be granted the trust and hence be appointed as their Preferred Takaful Partner,” he stressed.

Wan Mohd Fadzmi said both Agrobank and Takaful Ikhlas Berhad share a common goal, that is to provide a comprehensive and Syariah- compliant financial services which is beneficial to the customers.

“Based on this spirit, we have agreed to take the collaboration to another higher level - namely a 5-year collaboration for Takaful Ikhlas as the Preferred Takaful Partner. We are determined to strengthen the collaboration we currently have with the main objective to develop a special takaful coverage for the agro group as well as for the ‘unserved’ and ‘underserved’ groups,” he added.

To start the collaboration, Takaful Ikhlas and Agrobank launched Agro Nurani which is a Takaful Plan specifically created for the Disabled. The Takaful protection is the first of its kind in the country.

Additionally, Takaful Ikhlas and Agrobank will launch an educational takaful plan around mid-year this year.
