Andy Lau cancels yearend concert in Hong Kong
HONG KONG: Singer- actor Andy Lau, who is recovering from a spinal injury, has cancelled his New Year’s Eve concert in Hong Kong.
Originally, Andy had planned to stage the concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
His publicists said in a statement: “Our company’s artiste Andy Lau suffered a work-related injury on January 17. He is currently on the stage of recovery. For a more complete and solid recovery, Mr Andy Lau’s medical team recommended a longer rest period. Therefore, our company has decided to cancel the plans for his yearend Hong Kong concert.” His agency is to reschedule Andy’s other work commitments for the year based on the progress of his recovery, and his doctor’s recommendations.
A report said that the injury has cost Andy lost income of HK$ 20 million (RM12 million).
Andy was filming a commercial in Thailand when he fell off a horse. After being warded for 50 days, he is recovering at home.
