Nissan Teana — A sedan built to impress

- By Wilfred Pilo reporters@theborneopost.com

KUCHING: A fi rst glance at the Nissan Teana clearly indicates that it is a car built to impress. The 2.5L XV CVT is equipped with a host of innovative technologies set to facilitate smoother manoeuvring for the driver, and comfort for the passengers.

It starts with ignition – all at the push of a button to get the Twin CVTC engine roaring, ready for a safe and smooth cruising. The ‘Intelligent Key’ (i-Key) lets driver lock and unlock the door and the trunk while it stays in the pocket or handbag.

Once on the road, the model’s ‘ Vehicle Dynamic Control’ and ‘Traction Control’ systems, as well as the ‘ Electro-hydraulic Power Steering make sure that handling corners and turning into junctions would not only be a breeze, but also safe. The anti-lock braking system and electronic brakeforce are in place to reinforce the stops, especially the rear brakes when there are additional weights inside the car.

Space-wise, the seats are adjustable to suit the driver and the passengers. The air- conditioning is easily controlled but should the occupants want a whiff of fresh air to come in, the sunroof can be opened apart from the windows.

The rear sunshade provides the protection against harsh sunlight, minimising glare.

Additionally, the Bose Premium audio system and nine inbuilt speakers are installed as well to provide occupants with a true music experience. The Teana is also easy on the eyes too, with its sporty aerodynamic design that not only draws attention but also help in fuel savings.

A recent test- drive proved that throughout the almost 100km cruise, the sedan only consumed less than half-tank. The Nissan Teana 2.5L XV CVT goes for RM173.560.51 (On-The-Road).
