Taman Boulder Built JKKK to hold Gawai dinner May 13

KUCHING: The Taman Boulder Built village development and security committee (JKKK) is organising a Gawai dinner to be held at the Christian Ecumenical Centre here on May 13.

Minister of Local Government Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian is expected to officiate at the opening ceremony.

The dinner is a platform for Dayaks to get together and thereby, contribute towards enhancing unity among members of the community. A Kumang Gawai pageant will highlight the dinner’s list of programmes.

Holder of the Kumang Gawai crown will walk away with RM1,500, while respective first and second runners-up will receive RM1,000 and RM700.

Each of the top three contestants will be presented with a trophy, a sash and a bouquet of flowers.
