Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup tourney kicks off today
MIRI: The 30th Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup women’s football tournament opens its curtain at Miri Stadium today, with the kickoff match between Sarawak and Kelantan at 4pm.

She said she was pleased that everybody was giving full cooperation towards the tournament , despite some last minute changes in venue arrangements and the match schedule.
On the selection of players, Normala said each team would only be allowed to register no more than three players who had been in the national team over the past two years – a move aimed at unearthing more young talents.
“The teams are also allowed to take (national) players from outside – namely those not chosen to represent their own state in this tournament.
“I believe that this year, we will see vigorous and intense competitions between the teams, especially the new faces.
“Women’s football is gaining more attention from the public,” she said.
