Suggest new name for ‘Squad Sayang’

-

MIRI: Squad Sayang of Women’s Wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will be re-branded, and all PBB members who have suggestions for the new name can submit it to its deputy chief Datuk Fatimah Abdullah.

Fatimah said the re-branding was necessary because Umno also had its own Squad Sayang.

“We have received a few names and if you have any inspiration, we also welcome suggestions from the main body and youths as well,” she said at the launch of PBB Women Wing Lambir Branch Administration Leadership and Organisation Management Course here yesterday.

She also urged the Squad Sayang to be consistent in holding activities and not just during certain times so that people know they are active and consistent in upholding PBB’s brand and continue to be the force and backbone of the state Barisan Nasional.

Earlier, Fatimah, who is also Minister of Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing, spoke on the background of Squad Sayang from its conception in 2014, and the various activities held so far.

Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat who was also present hoped that PBB Lambir members would work harder in getting more voters to join them.

Currently, they have about 4,000 members out of the 18,000 registered voters in the constituency. He also urged members to approach non-voters to get them to register as well.

Chairperson of PBB Women Wing Lambir branch Zainanai Salleh, Sibuti MP Ahmad Lai Bujang and Bekenu assemblywoman Rosey Yunus were also present at the two-day event which ends today.
