The event will be hosted by film producer Ray Lee in collaboration with Junior Chamber International (JCI) Sibu Jaya and Syarikat Produksi Tujuh Warisan Sdn Bhd. Staven Event Management Sarawak (Sems) and JCI Lutong are also directly involved in the launching ceremony.

Guests invited to the event include Assistant Minister for Tourism Datuk Lee Kim Shin, Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting and Miri Mayor Adam Yii.

“The launching event is intended to elevate Borneo fi lms as well as to provide an avenue for members of the public, especially film enthusiasts, to appreciate the work of director Ray Lee and his dedicated team of fi lm professionals.

“It is also to further promote our local fi lm industry,” Lee said when met during a courtesy call by several of the fi lm’s collaborators at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) office in Bandar Baru Permyjaya recently.

Syarikat Hornbill Films is producing ‘Dendam Gadang’ and supported by the National Film Development Corporation (Finas).

Lee emphasised that several interesting places in Sarawak were chosen as fi lming locations for the telemovie, which took approximately six months to complete.

“Apart from being another attraction for visitors alike, it is also hoped that the fi lm would be able to bring people from all walks of life together to watch the fi lm and support the local fi lm industry and bring it to the next level,” he added.

The fi lm tells a story of a brother looking to avenge the fate of his sister, who was killed tragically, against the backdrop of a feud between two villages.
