Registration opens for St Joseph’s kindergarten 2018 intake
KUCHING: Registration for the newly set-up St Joseph’s Kindergarten is now open for its first intake in January 2018. Registration closes on July 31.
The kindergarten which was set up by Sisters of St Francis, Sarawak will take in four and five year olds only. It will be a co- ed kindergarten.
It is located at Jalan Taman Budaya - the same location as St Jude’s Kindergarten which was closed at the end of 2016.
St Joseph’s Kindergarten is affiliated to St Joseph’s Private School, Kuching. Students from St Joseph’s Kindergarten will get direct admission to Primary 1 at St Joseph’s Private Primary School without having to sit for the assessment test subject to certain criteria.
However, admission to St Joseph’s Private Primary School is not compulsory. Parents are free to send their child to any other schools to continue their primary education.
For the convenience of parents, we are exploring the possibility of providing after school care from noon to 5pm.
The kindergarten will follow the Malaysian Pre- School syllabus. Medium of instruction will be in both Bahasa Malaysia and English. There will be enrichment curriculum with the inclusion of teaching materials used by established kindergartens from Singapore and West Malaysia.
Normal school hours will be from 8am to noon, Monday to Friday.
