Dayak NGO to host seminar on NCR land tomorrow

-

KUCHING: A non-governmental organisation (NGO) Dayak Nation Institute (Dani) will host a seminar entitled ‘ Randau NCR: Hidden Truth’ at Telang Usan Hotel in Miri tomorrow ( Saturday April 15).

To be held from 9am until 4pm with an entrance fee of RM50 per participant, the seminar is aimed at exchanging ideas on how to develop native customary right ( NCR) lands as an economic tool to elevate the socio- ecomonic standard of the community.

Topics to be presented at the seminar will involve matters on the Land Code, community empowerment, urgency to survey NCR lands, NCR land bank strategy and its utilisation and the monetisation of the NCR landbank.

A former Land and Survey officer will be one of the speakers. Landowners who have experience in land conflict or court cases will be sharing their experiences.

“The focus of the seminar is more on a practical, two-waystreet communication instead of speech, with more emphasis on seeking solutions or resolution to problems,” Dani head Rapelson Richard Hamit was quoted as saying in a press statement.

“The entrance fee is RM50 per person for tea break and lunch. Registration of participations will be based on bookings as they are limiting the seats to 100 only. And it will be a closed door seminar,” he added.

He said interested persons could bank in their RM50 entrance fee to Dani at CIMB account number 8008455499.

For the booking of seat, detailed information and clarification, the public are advised to call, SMS or Whatsapp Dani Miri coordinator Bobby William at 019- 8278584.
