Upcoming food, mini arts festival marks revival of Coco Cabana

-

MIRI: The Asia Food Festival and a mini arts festival will be running at Coco Cabana here from tomorrow (April 20) to April 23.

Coco Cabana is formerly known as the famous Marina Bay Seafood Restaurant.

The Asia Food Festival will host over 40 stalls, manned by chefs and culinary masters from all across the region – bringing with them delicacies rarely found locally such as those from Thailand, Taiwan, China and Korea.

According to spokesperson of the organising committee, Coco Cabana is a new branding that also symbolises the will to create something new.

“The place was once popular due to the seahorse lighthouse where many wedding photographs had been taken and feasts had been held, as well as where people had enjoyed watching sunsets and feeling the cool breeze.

“This joint event marks the revival of Coco Cabana. The public can enter for free and once again, be amazed by its antique Parisian- style architecture.

“Now Coco Cabana becomes a place of for creativity, exhibitions, family gatherings and more,” the spokesperson said.

The mini arts festival – also known as ‘ Seahorse Mini Arts Carnival’ – is also aimed to make this city more ‘colourful’.

“There will be a showcase of creativity from many talented buskers, artists and designers. There will also be workshops, competition and dances, apart from a children’s colouring contest and a family DIY clay competition.

“Interested parties can contact Wilson at 0111- 585-1113, or Bernard at 019- 489- 8086,” the spokesperson said.
