“From here, we can start educating young riders on traffic laws and motorcycle safety,” said KSPPIK secretary Fadillah Sulaiman in a statement on Wednesday.

He pointed out six categories contesting in this second series: ‘Under 13’, ‘Under 21’, ‘Open Category’, ‘Gymkhana’, ‘Slow Ride’ and the main category ‘Piala Pusingan Giant’ where winners will each receive a trophy, certificate and hamper.

“This event also aims to find new talent among ‘anak Sarawak’ interested in motorbike racing,” he added.

Fadillah noted that past winners from the first series of the race will also be competing in the race on Labour Day.

One of them is champion in the ‘Under 14’ category, Awang Hafizul Awang Kasuma who received a trophy, certificate and hamper for his effort.

“I will be seeking to defend my title for the second time in the Mini Pocketbike Club Race 2017,” he said.

Those interested to participate in the race are welcome to register at Giant Hypermarket Tabuan Jaya carpark at 8am on race day ( May 1).
