Bikers club expects over 500 for maiden event

SARIKEI: The 6D Riders Club Sarikei (6DR) has drawn up a host of activities for its first event set for this May 13 at the civic centre here, running from 7am till midnight.

The organiser is expecting a turnout of more than 500 people on event day.

Club president Zulbadiar Abdullah announced this during a press conference at a restaurant here yesterday, where his deputy Radin Wan Baderi and secretary Ibrahim Salim were also present.

“Members of some 15 bikers clubs from other towns will also join us in the gathering,” said Zulbadiar, adding that the crowdpulle­r would be a show featuring popular artistes like Jessica Remaya, Nai Dinamik and Bandi Amok.

Activities lined- up in the morning segment will include a Zumba presentati­on, the ‘Strongman and Strongwoma­n Challenge’, a health screening programme, a demonstrat­ion on cardio-pulmonary resuscitat­ion ( CPR), an autoshow and a bike convoy to Taman Susur Jambu.

“The discipline­s for the Strongman Challenge are the 400lg tyre flip, the one-minute car deadlift, the 90kg log press, the 260kg ‘ Yoke Walk’, the 90kg ‘Atlas Stone’, as well as the 100kg and 120kg stones; for the women, the discipline­s are the 260kg tyre flip, the 70kg deadlift, and the 160kg ‘ Yoke Walk’.

“In the afternoon, the activities will include a performanc­e by invited artistes, a talk conducted by representa­tives of the police and JPJ ( Road Transport Department), and also a fi rst aid demonstrat­ion.

“There will also be a Miss Bikers pageant at night,” said Zulbadiar.

Tanjung Manis MP Datuk Norah Tun Abdul Rahman has been invited to the event as the guest- of-honour and also to unveil 6DR’s official logo.
