LUF, Swinburne S’wak enter partnership on fitness package

-

KUCHING: Level Up Fitness (LUF) Sdn Bhd – the parent holding of the LevelUp gym and fitness centre – is partnering with Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus in providing a fitness package to the university students and personnel.

This collaboration also makes LUF the Australian university’s inaugural partner under its ‘ Partnership Marketing Programme’.

“Cross-marketing partnerships are becoming increasingly important today as brands realise the value in working together to reach similar audiences, whilst providing value to their customers on both ends. This is a win-winwin situation for brands and customers and we’re thrilled to have LUF as our first partner,” said Swinburne Sarawak marketing and communications director Jagdish Singh in a press statement after the two parties signed a memorandum of agreement ( MOA) on the partnership at the university yesterday.

Under the agreement, students and staff members of Swinburne Sarawak can enjoy an exclusive membership package at the LevelUp VivaCity branch for a monthly fee of RM118, in which those who sign up get to enjoy the same benefits as those allocated for the premium members, as well as discounts for any Weight Loss Programme provided by LevelUp on top of other perks and privileges.

Swinburne Sarawak plans to work with brands across consumer verticals with a similar target audience of 17- 40 years old and several blue chip brands are already in negotiations with the university.

“We will have a dedicated page on our website to list all our partners and the perks for our staff and students, in addition to offering our partners advertising spots at high-traffic areas on campus, booths at our events and more. We welcome enquiries from potential partners and they may get in touch with me,” Jagdish said.

Meanhile, LUF director and chief executive officer Kenny Sia said the initiative taken by an institution of higher learning in ensuring that their community would lead a balanced lifestyle was commendable, and a partnership such as this would benefit the community in so many ways.

Meanwhile, Swinburne Sarawak deputy vice- chancellor and chief executive officer Prof Janet Gregory sees LevelUp as a homegrown business chain that is fast expanding across Malaysia and this partnership, according to her, makes perfect sense in that Swinburne Sarawak is committed to ensuring their students and staff members would lead a healthy lifestyle.

“At the same time, this will also help them to build awareness of and preference for Swinburne.”

The MOA signing yesterday was witnessed by Jagdish and LUF Club manager Saw Liang Mei, who represented LevelUp VivaCity.
