PBDSB names Rapelson for Puncak Borneo seat

-

KUCHING: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru ( PBDSB) has announced its potential candidate for Puncak Borneo seat for the coming 14th General Election.

Its president Cobbold John Lusoi revealed that the party has chosen Rapelson Richard Hamit to contest in the Bidayuhmajority seat.

“I’m proud to reveal that Rapelson is our first potential candidate and he will contest in Puncak Borneo, where he is a registered voter,” he said.

Rapelson, 31, holds a degree in Social Science with honours in Planning and Development Management.

He made his election debut in the last state polls contesting in Gedong before standing in the Tanjong Datu by- election in February.

Cobbold said Rapelson is a potential candidate who is very committed, energetic and bold in voicing the plight of communities in Sarawak.

He, however, did not name other candidates saying it would be announced at various other times.

Last week, PBDSB deputy president Patrick Anek Uren said the party was only eyeing a maximum of five parliamentary seats, including Mas Gading.

He said the final names of candidates, as well as the constituencies to be contested, would be made known at relevant future dates.

“Presently, the party is also seeking cooperation with other like-minded parties with a concerted view so as to enable a one-to- one contest against Barisan Nasional ( BN),” he was quoted as saying.
