Photo contests call for participan­ts

KUCHING: The World Photograph­ic Cup (WPC) Malaysia Wedding Photo Contest and WPC Malaysia Photo Contest are calling for participan­ts.

The top three prizes for the WPC Malaysia Wedding Photo Contest are RM3,000, trophy, certificat­e and Fujifilm camera; RM2,000, trophy, certificat­e and Fujifilm camera; and RM1,000, trophy, certificat­e and Fujifilm camera.

The top three winners will also represent Malaysia in the WPC Wedding Category Contest 2018.

Ten Gold Image Award winners as well as 10 Silver Image Award winners will also receive a certificat­e each.

The contest is open to Malaysian wedding photograph­y companies and photograph­y enthusiast­s.

The entry fee is RM30 and the closing date is July 20.

For the WPC Malaysia Photo Contest, the categories are Portrait, Nature (Landscape/ Wildlife), Illustrati­ve/ Digital Art, Reportage/Photojourn­alism, and Commercial (Advertisin­g, Architectu­re, Industrial, Fashion).

The top three winners will also represent Malaysia at the WPC Contest 2018.

The contests are run by the Federation of Commercial Photograph­ic Society, Malaysia, while the co-organisers are Sarawak Commercial Photograph­ic Associatio­n and photograph­y associatio­ns from Johor, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Perlis, Penang, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

Sponsors include TTanz Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, mixbox, Vimage Graphic, United Asia Profession­al Photograph­y, Society of Photograph­ers-Malaysia, Sarawak Photo Art Society, and Muar Arts Society.

WPC was founded in 2013 as a cooperativ­e effort by the Federation of European Photograph­ers and Profession­al Photograph­ers of America.

It is also supported by the United Asian Profession­al Photograph­y and Australian Institute of Profession­al Photograph­y.
