Muhibbah bags second win of the year

Muhibbah Engineerin­g Malaysia Bhd ( Muhibbah) has bagged its second win of the year with an RM584.4 million contract from the Bintulu Port Authority.

The announceme­nt of the win was made via a filing on Bursa Malaysia where the company detailed that the contract was received via a joint venture entity – Muhibbah Viccan JV – where Muhibbah owns a 51 per cent stake.

HSL files appeal against High Court decision

Hock Seng Lee Bhd (HSL) has filed an appeal against the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak’s decision to proceed with a suit against the company and four of its directors.

This was announced in a filing on Bursa Malaysia on May 3 where the group declared their dissatisfa­ction with the whole decision given by the High Court and had in turn appealed to the Court of Appeal Malaysia against the decision.

Sole Tony Roma’s outlet in Borneo targets lunch crowd

Tony Roma’s Malaysia is expanding its target market by introducin­g its weekday set lunch aimed at the office crowd in Kuching based on its to its value-for-money deal.

According to operations manager Dave Sidhu, its branch in Vivacity Megamall, Kuching – its sole branch in Sabah and Sarawak – sees great patronage during weekends and public holidays, but its weekday crowd places empahasis on lunch.

Labuan Port Authority to appoint consultant for port improvemen­t

The newly- establishe­d Labuan Port Authority (LPA) will appoint a consultant to oversee the possible improvemen­t of the Labuan Liberty Port. Chairman Datuk Wee Jeck Seng said the improvemen­t is needed to turn the port into one of internatio­nal stature.

Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd’s constructi­on materials and cement divisions are expected to continue driving the group in the near to long term future, underpinne­d by an expected increase in demand for materials for the developmen­t Pan Borneo Highway and Baleh Dam.
