and we will assist him in areas we have been assigned to, to move the state towards a new era of digital economy,” Sharifah Hasidah told the media after the opening of the first meeting of the second session of the 18th State Legislative Assembly at the State Assembly Complex here yesterday.

She said one of her main tasks would be looking into different laws as well as negotiations on devolution of power from federal to state.

“I have been tasked to look into different laws. Maybe new laws should be put in place for the smooth running of the digital economy and the laying down of ICT infrastructure.

She pointed out that when moving towards digital economy, cyber problems and cyber security would be an area of concern and online businesses would need to be regulated.

Meanwhile, Sharifah Hasidah who has also been entrusted with the responsibility of project monitoring said she would work together with the Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office ( Integrity and Ombudsman) to ensure smooth operation and minimise corruption.
