-

KAPIT: Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat on Saturday afternoon inspected the cemented car-park at the compound of the quarters of Kapit Hospital staff.

He was accompanied by a political secretary to the chief minister Tapah Ata, Kapit Hospital director Dr Hii King Ching, Lions Club Kapit members Dr Sia Tih Kong who put forward the proposal to Jamit, Cr Jenny Yii, Datuk Yong Hua Sying, Sng Geok Yien and Ling Bee Chong.

At the site, Dr Sia explained to Jamit the scope of works being carried out. On behalf of Kapit Hospital, Dr Hii thanked Jamit and the Lions Club for the project which she described as very useful and beneficial to the hospital.

“Earlier Lions Club Kapit called on me to explain the proposal to cement this open space for the purpose of car park for the staff of Kapit Hospital. As you’re aware, all these years, there isn’t any car park at Kapit Hospital and the road is so narrow that the problem is acute to vehicle owners, both hospital staff and public. When lions came to see me, I approved RM25,000 for the purpose and now they have done it. This place is big enough for some 40 cars and I hope could ease the parking problem faced by the staff,” Jamit told the press.

“I’d like to thank the lions for the job done very quickly. Lions Club and other associations have been working very closely with me for the benefit of the community. I’m sure this place will benefit the hospital staff because now they’ve a proper place to park their cars while working,” added Jamit.
