“We are now living in a fast changing world filled with enormous uncertainties. Challenges such as price drops in oil and gas, palm oil, ringgit fluctuation and decrease in market demand are just the few that we as a business should overcome,” said Lu.
He said SEA members must have willpower and always think positive, act positive and spread their positive energy to those around them.
“We should be more flexible and agile in the face of the fastchanging markets.”
Lu added that the SEA family must work closely together, not just among their business community but also with the government,
“I believe with the leadership of our new Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Abang Openg, Sarawak can move into another era of economic excellence.”
He said the foresight of transforming Sarawak into a digital economy provides another dimension to the economic justification for building basic infrastructure in Sarawak.
“With the support of our State Government in developing Sarawak, I believe our SEA team can contribute and work hand-inhand towards the same goal.”
Meanwhile, permanent honorary chairman of SEA, Lin Jue Ya stressed the importance of the ‘one belt one road’ concept in Sarawak.
He believes it will bring more business opportunities to Sarawak. However, SEA has to be prepared for this growth as technology changes rapidly.
SEA is the trusted and vital source of advocacy, insight and information for Sarawak’s local electricity industry. They provide networking opportunities, and a collective voice on issues vital to their members’ business success.
