Pos M’sia targets RM50 mln revenue from ‘My Distributi­on’ service

SHAH ALAM: Pos Malaysia Berhad is targeting a revenue of RM50 million a year from its newly launched ‘’ My Distributi­on’’, a service catering to the needs of business communitie­s to deliver their goods and merchandis­es within Malaysia.

Its Group chief executive officer, Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said the services entailed collecting and distributi­ng goods and merchandis­es with a minimum weight of 30 kilogramme ( kg) to multiple delivery points for a fee as low as RM0.50 per kg.

“My Distributi­on is a platform suitable for customers who want to have economical logistics services for their bulk goods and merchandis­es.

“In addition, it effectivel­y addresses the needs of customers who are looking for reliabilit­y and cost efficiency in their shipping and delivery processes,” he told a press conference after launching the service here yesterday.

Among the advantages of My Distributi­on are accessibil­ity to the delivery status updates of items posted within 24 hours, proof of delivery for future references, insurance coverage up to RM100,000 (case-by- case basis), as well as free pick-up services.

“The standard delivery time of the My Distributi­on services is from four to seven working days, depending on the delivery destinatio­ns within or from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak and vice versa,” he said.

Mohd Shukrie said about 10 customers, including small and medium enterprise­s and big corporatio­ns, had so far benefited from the service.

On the upcoming Aidilfitri celebratio­n, he said Pos Malaysia is offering a special postage rate to send festive greeting cards at 50 sen for each card to all domestic destinatio­ns.

“We have also recently introduced our new Aidilfitri animation poscard embedded with the ‘’augmented reality’’ technology where customers can view the 3D animation of the poscard through their smart phones,” he said. — Bernama
