16 Repok schools, two religious bodies to get RTP funds — Rep

SARIKEI: A total of 16 schools and two religious bodies in Repok constituen­cy will receive Rural Transforma­tion Project ( RTP) funds soon.

Repok assemblyma­n Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii said the funds are for the upgrading of facilities.

The schools are SK Sungai Paoh ( RM211,799); SK Tanah Putih ( RM68,275); SMK Bandar Sarikei ( RM314,608); SMK Sungai Paoh ( RM213,484); SRK Methodist Anglo- Chinese (( RM157,304); SJK Kwang Chien ( RM67,713); SM Ming Lik ( RM207,866); SJK Nam Kiew ( RM71,297); SJK Su Hing ( RM207,866); SJK Sze Lu ( RM101,124); SJK Bulat ( RM112,360); SJK Su Dok ( RM101,124); SK St Anne ( RM106,742); SJK Kiew Mang ( RM157,304); SJK St Martin ( RM101,124); and SJK Sin Ming ( RM224,720).

SIB Church is set to receive RM530,339, while the Sarikei Buddhist Orthodox Temple is to receive RM207,866.

“The distributi­on of the allocation reflects the sincerity and fairness of the state Barisan Nasional ( BN) government in looking after the interests of the people in the state, irrespecti­ve of their racial or religious background­s,” Huang said when presenting minor rural project ( MRP) grants yesterday.

“Our new Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg has not only continued the legacy of past BN leaders but has strived to improve further on certain areas to suit the needs of time.”

He added that the significan­t amount allocated to schools is in line with the great emphasis accorded by the state government to quality education.

During the function, Huang presented RM32,000 in MRP grants to 11 associatio­ns.
