Sg Tringgus bridge ready by Gawai

BAU: The bridge across Sungai Tringgus will be declared open before the Gawai celebratio­n as it is now 95 per cent completed.

Constructi­on of the 42.67 metre bridge costing RM600,000 started last December , Serembu assemblyma­n Miro Simuh told reporters when met after visiting the bridge.

“Over 1,500 residents from villages such as Kampung Bong, Kampung Matan Nguan and Kampung Rabak Rotan had to use a bamboo bridge before, and the worry for safety of the residents over the bridge condition will be over soon,” said Miro.

over the overall progress of the project, which was approved by former assemblyma­n of Bengoh, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil who is now the Mambong assemblyma­n.

“I am confident that upon the completion of this bridge, it would transform the economic landscape of the residents here, and we plan to set up a Visitors Informatio­n Centre soon for this place to provide informatio­n on the attraction­s around the area.

Village chief Maeh Akui said the completion of the bridge has brought about a sigh of relief from the local residents.

“We are glad that the worry over the previous bridge condition, especially when children commute to school daily will be over,” he said.
