LIMBANG: Contractors and implementing agencies need to prioritise management of floods, landslides and traffic when doing upgrading work at bends from Tedungan to Pandaruan Road.

Such problems have to be taken seriously to avert landslides so as to ensure smooth traffic flow,

He said 11 projects to upgrade the bends along Tedungan/ Pandaruan road are 75 per cent completed and scheduled for completion in August this year, with RM39.5 million channelled through the Public Works Department.

“We want all the 11 projects to take into account public safety, while being prepared for the eventuality of landslide and flooding,” he said during a recent visit to Tamu Limbang.

Among those present were secretary- general of Ministry of Public Works Dato Sri Zohari Akop; senior officials of the Ministry of Works, Putrajaya and representative of Limbang Resident Selamat Jati Yanjah, Limbang Dstrict Officer Jamalie Busri, Limbang District Council Walikota Sufian Mohat and PWD Engineer Noor Ismail Razali.

On the Tamu, Hasbi said work on the project is 70 per cent completed and the whole project scheduled for completion in one to two months’ time.
