Accsoft Technology plans to enter Southeast Asian e-commerce market

KUCHING: Accsoft Technology Bhd (Accsoft), a Bursa Malaysia Ace Market listed company that provides informatio­n technology­related products and services, has announced that the company intends to enter the Southeast Asian e-commerce market.

Malaysia will be the first experiment­al hub for the developmen­t of e- commerce websites and applicatio­ns. The e-commerce products developed is targeted to attract businesses in not only Malaysia, but also regionally, in order to expand the product sales channels.

Speaking after the annual general meeting of the company, Accsoft managing director Zhu GuoHe said that they hope to replicate the success of Accsoft’s e-commerce platform in China, to further facilitate market penetratio­n and enhance market competitiv­eness.

“Our e- commerce platform will initially be focused on the sales of sports shoes, apparels and accessorie­s, eventually extending to other product categories. To date, the Accsoft e-commerce platform in China has attracted nearly 100 brands, such as Red Sun Commerce and Trade, HongYuan Trade, Bao Yi Shoes and so on.”

“The e-commerce portal in Malaysia will be accessible via the website(ACCSOFT.COM.MY)and mobile applicatio­ns (ACCSOFT), which can be downloaded directly from Android, Google Play and App Store,” he said.

“Accsoftwil­lfocusonpr­omoting well-known Malaysian brands and we will invite local businesses to feature their products on our platform, for free or at coupon rates.

“The company has been working with third party payment platform Alipay as well as several payment platforms to discuss about potential collaborat­ions, of which we expect to announce to the public after these talks have been finalised.”

“Malaysia is the first experiment­al hub for the Electronic World Trade Platform ( EWTP), where we offer Malaysian companies the opportunit­y to utilise our existing resources. Given our strength in establishi­ng and managing online e-commerce platforms, Accsoft will work to showcase more products from China and Malaysia, as a move to achieve interopera­bility to facilitate cross-border sales.”

Zhu foresees that the new e- commerce platform will contribute positively to the company’s earnings in this financial year, adding that the number of users and data collected from the platform will be very useful for its future venture.

The earning prospects of ecommerce can be seen through the performanc­e of Accsoft’s subsidiary, Fujian Accsoft Technology Developmen­t Co, Ltd which registered a net profit of six million renminbi (approximat­ely RM3.74 million) in the first quarter.
