-

PUTRAJAYA: A businesswoman, Florence Goh Siew Boey yesterday clarified that she is not the Florence Goh linked to United States lobbyist services as accused by opposition lawmaker Rafizi Ramli.

Goh, who is CRT Insights Technologies Sdn Bhd director, told a news conference that she is not the same Florence Goh neither a director of Godfrey Group Limited as alleged by the PKR leader.

“He ( Razifi) named me and my company’ online. I am in IT business and everything is online. What he did affected my business, my reputation and my family,” she said flanked by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong.

Goh, 42, demanded Rafizi to clear her from the allegation and apologise to her.

“Vindicate me from this,”she said, adding that she had also lodged a police report on Monday.

Meanwhile, Wee who is MCA deputy president, urged Rafizi to make a thorough check before spreading the wrong information to the public.

“It is unfair to those named. He should be more responsible and should not victimise others,” he said.

Commenting on The Star’s insensitive front page on May 27, Wee said the headline and accompanying photograph would give a wrong perception to readers.

“We have to be careful, take this as a lesson,” he added.

Yesterday, The Star suspended two senior editors pending an investigation.

Inspector- General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said police had opened an investigation paper following reports lodged by the public over the matter.

On Monday, the Home Ministry issued The Star a show cause letter over the front page report and layout. The English daily newspaper was given seven days to respond to the letter. — Bernama
