Yii praised Yu for his initiative to clean up the rubbish along Marina Bay beach last month.

He praised Yu for having a positive attitude and taking action.

“He is an example on how much our society can achieve if they take the initiative, and to further encourage more people to step up and do their bit for society.”

He also hoped that Yu could further assist the council in its effort to promote and engage more people to join the campaign to keep Miri clean.

“I’m just doing this because I love nature. We should encourage more people to come out and do their bit not only for society, but also for the environment.”

Present were deputy mayor Julaihi Mohamad and MCC secretary Morshidi Frederick.
