Catch ‘Subaru WRX STI Roadshow’ at Vivacity tomorrow

-

KUCHING: Sebangga Auto Sdn Bhd’s ‘ Subaru WRX STI Roadshow’, held in celebration of the Gawai Dayak season, will conclude tomorrow (June 4) at the Central Atrium of Vivacity Megamall here.

The campaign has been going on since June 1 and so far, the response has been very overwhelming.

According to Sebangga Group chief executive officer Mohamad Syahrin Ahmad Mosri Shahrinmasri, Sebangga Auto is offering a promotional price of RM239,000 for every selected – and limited – unit, which represents a massive saving over the full price of RM315,000.

Additionally, Uber Malaysia is sponsoring rides to and from the Subaru Roadshow worth RM5 – both via the promo code ‘KCHSUBARU2017’.

“Sebangga Auto Sdn Bhd is the sole appointed dealer for the Subaru brand in Labuan and Sabah under Motor Image – the distributor of Subaru cars in Malaysia,” he told reporters at the roadshow, adding the promotions for 2016 Subaru models are ongoing, while stock lasts.

Moreover, Sebangga Auto would be expanding its outlets to Miri and Bintulu by the year- end to cater to customers’ need, he added.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Syahrin said Sebangga Auto would be operating its first 4S centre at Jalan Pending here beginning next month. It is said that this centre – located at 1096, Section 64 KTLD, Jalan Pending – would be main hub for Subaru Sarawak.

Sebangga Auto established its maiden 3S centre for East Malaysia in Labuan in October 2015. The following month, they entered Kota Kinabalu and less than a year after that, they set up

another 3S centre in Sandakan.

Within a year after Sebangga Auto’s embarkation in Labuan and Sabah, it launched a larger 3S centre at Jalan Tuaran – the main Subaru hub for Sabah – in February this year.

“Our first 4S centre is now going through renovations and should be operating by July. At the moment, we have a temporary showroom in Vivacity Megamall located just next to Parkson Grand, to allow the locals the chance to test- drive Subaru XV and Subaru Forester as well as other models,” said Mohamad Syahrin.

Subaru is the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries, the world’s 22nd largest automaker by production in 2012.

The cars are known for the use of a ‘boxer engine layout’ in most vehicles above 1500cc.

Most Subaru models have been using the ‘Symmetrical All Wheel Drive’ drive- train layout since 1972.

The flat/ boxer engine and allwheeldrive became the standard equipment for middle- sized and smaller cars in most international markets by 1996, and they are now the Subaru standard in most North American markets.

The lone exception is the BRZ, introduced in 2012, which also uses the boxer engine but is equipped with a rear-wheel- drive structure.

Subaru also offers turbo-charged versions of their passenger cars, such as the Impreza WRX and the Legacy 2.5GT. The 2.5XT trims of the Outback and Forester also include a turbo- charged engine.

The growth of Subaru in Malaysia owes to the great support from customers for its sports utility vehicle (SUV) model Subaru XV, which it first assemble in Malaysia five years ago. Following the success of this popular model, Subaru launched the second locally-assembled model in April last year, with the renowned and larger Forester SUV.
