KUCHING: After sweeping three 5-star awards at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2017-2018, TH Properties Sdn Bhd (TH Properties) was named a regional nominee for its TH Hotel and Convention Centre (THHCC) Kuching, vying for the coveted ‘Best New Hotel Construction & Design’ title in the Asia Pacific region.

The nomination came after TH Properties received three 5-star accolades for its Bay Pavilions project in Australia under the ‘ Apartment’ category, the Islamic Complex Putrajaya for ‘ Office Development’ category and THHCC Kuching in ‘New Hotel Construction & Design’ category.

The five-star accolade recognises the project as the best in the respective category and country that it is contested in.

Followingthenomination,THCC Kuching will be put forward for re-judging against other highestscoring winners from each region at the upcoming International Property Awards in London, to ultimately determine the world’s finest property projects.

The Asia Pacific Property Awards seeks to recognise the best properties and propertyrelated companies in each country including developers, architects, interior designers, and real estate agencies.

The judging includes an increasing emphasis on sustainability, the selection of finishes and materials, the use of space and design that demonstrates effective foresight in the user experience for the buyer or tenant and how the project meets those needs amongst other criteria.

This year, the awards received as many as 800 entries by almost 400 companies across 27 countries in the region.

TH Properties’s winning projects were entered into some of the most contested development categories of the Asia Pacific Property Awards.

TH Properties’s achievement underscores its commitment to innovation, high quality and the ability to execute projects with considerable attention to detail.

Elaborating on the winning projects, Datuk Azizan Abd Rahman said TH Properties pays particular attention not only to the design of the project but also the surrounding environment and local heritage.

The THHCC Kuching, for example, embraces and infuses local heritage into its design through the adaptation of Pua Kumbu motif into the form of the building.

“We are proud to carry this beautiful infusion of ethnic heritage and modern architecture onto the world’s platform – in which we can showcase THHCC as a timeless and synergistic blend of art and architecture,” he added.

TH Properties made its first international venture with the development of Bay Pavilions apartment in Sydney Australia, making it the first Syariahcompliant property company in the land down under. The 272-unit apartment across 5 eco-sensitive buildings has been fully sold out.

The Islamic Complex Putrajaya in Precinct 3, Putrajaya is a grade A, purpose-built office complex strategically located next to Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.

Developed on a Build-LeaseOperate model with Lembaga Tabung Haji as the owner of the building, TH Properties undertook the development, construction, and maintenance work. It is the group’s most recent completion of a public services project.
