Samsung’s new notebooks set to write a new chapter
SEOUL: The Samsung Notebook 9 Pro is the company’s first computer to boast the innovative S-Pen technology that helped it create and dominate the phablet market.
The new notebook is available with a 13.3-inch or 15-inch 360°hinged display — i.e., it can be used as a traditional mobile PC or folded on itself and into tablet form — and packs a 7th- generation Intel Core i7 processor as standard.
The smaller model gets 8GB of RAM and the 15-inch version gets 16GB, while both versions should be very responsive thanks to a solid state 225GB hard disk as standard.
But it’s the addition of the S Pen that will make these PCs stand out. Over countless iterations of the Galaxy Note phablet, Samsung has perfected its in-house stylus technology in terms of creativity and productivity.
The S Pen responds to 4000 different levels of pressure making it equally good for annotating a presentation and for free-hand sketching in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.
“Consumers today require their laptop to let them multitask more than ever,” said Alanna Cotton, vice president and general manager of product marketing at Samsung Electronics America. “We continue to push boundaries in our notebook line by bridging powerful computing with gorgeous displays, and now our revolutionary S Pen which enables consumers to do even more.”
