All divisional affiliates to organise simultaneous leagues — FAS
KUCHING: Divisional affiliates of the Football Association of Sarawak ( FAS) are required to organise their respective league simultaneously starting this year.
FAS vice president cum secretary Razali Dolhan said this is necessary to ensure the calendar arranged by the state body can be implemented according to the fixed schedule.
“FAS has determined that the organising of local leagues should be done simultaneously starting this year.
“This is to enable the association to run the programme as planned part from giving the opportunity to all divisional affiliates to prepare well for the challenge in the Sarawak Cup this year.
“It will also give ample time for every division to find their best players for the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat 2017-2018 which is expected to commence in August,” he explained.
In this connection, Razali said FAS are still looking for suitable dates for the commencement of the league which he believed will probably be three weeks after the Hari Raya Adilfitri.
He hoped all the affiliates are aware of the new regulation and ready to organized football leagues in their respective divisions.
On the organising of the Sarawak Cup, Razali said FAS have yet to decide on the dates and venue for the prestigious championship but the FAS exco will be meeting soon to discuss the matter.
