Ministry to help boost high-speed broadband penetration in all hospitals nationwide
PASIR MAS: The Communications and Multimedia Ministry will help to increase high-speed broadband penetration at all hospitals in the country.
The ministry’s secretarygeneral Datuk Seri Dr Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad said the facility is vital in the digital age for the convenience of hospital staff and patients.
“If we fall behind in this digital era in terms of broadband and its accessibility level, it would be inconvenient for the Health Ministry as well as the patients,” she said.
She was speaking to reporters after launching the ‘Kasih Ramadan Programme’ for the Orang Kota Bharu Association (POKB) yesterday, run by the Civil Defence Force (APM) and Mydin Hypermarket at Pasir Mas Hospital here.
The programme, jointly organised with the Kelantan branch of the Malaysian Nurses Association, also contributed an ‘iftar’ (break-of-fast) meal to all the doctors, nurses and the patients at the hospital.
Dr Sharifah Zarah, who is also patron of POKB Cancer Compassion Fund, said the Ministry of Health had made a lot of improvements to various amenities and the latest technology in the health services to the people.
Meanwhile, POKB president Datuk Sheikh Ahmad Dusuki Sheikh Mohamad said the association would adopt policemen who had become physically handicapped while serving the force.
So far, 15 police personnel classified as disabled had been adopted and given various assistance, he added.
At the event, POKB donated four air-conditioning units worth RM11,000 to the Palliative Care Ward of Pasir Mas Hospital for cancer, stroke and heart patients. — Bernama
