PBB Pujut Women backs Adam Yii for Pujut by-election

MIRI: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB) Pujut women back Adam Yii as candidate for the Pujut by- election .

Its chairlady Lila Mohammad said Adam is a dedicated SUPP party member and very approachable and assured that its women members would campaign in full force to win the seat.

“Adam is not a new face in SUPP Miri and has been working together with other BN component parties before becoming Miri City Council mayor,” Lila said to The Borneo Post recently.

According to Lila, Adam can mix together with other component party members on the ground and can be seen together with Datuk Sebastian Ting all these years visiting the multiracial communities in Miri.

She said PBB Pujut women, together with its main body and youth wing, would work doubly- hard from house to house to see support especially in the bumiputera villages and residential areas.

The PBB Pujut women chief stressed that it is important for SUPP to work together with UPP and other BN component parties including PBB, PRS and PDP.

“Don’t give big promises like a mountain. Whether small or big, just deliver or solve first the issue then the people will automatically support the candidate,” she stressed.

She said currently there are about 500 PBB Pujut women who are residing in various kampungs and housing areas in Pujut constituency.

Meanwhile, SUPP Pujut is expected to field Adam Yii, a senior SUPP member in Miri, while UPP is also lobbying for the seat and its UPP Pujut chief Bruce Chai has been seen campaigning to woo support.

On the other hand, DAP Miri is expected to field its former state assemblyman for Piasau Alan Ling Sie Kiong.

Both SUPP and DAP have their hardcore supporters in Pujut constituency and this by- election is seen as a big tussle for both parties to reclaim the urban majority Chinese seat.
