KTS Club members’ children get study incentives from KTS Group

-

SIBU: The KTS Group yesterday presented study incentives to 46 outstanding students who are children of KTS Club members.

KTS Group’s deputy managing director Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau Lee Ming handed out the incentives.

Speaking before the presentation, he said study incentives are given out yearly to club members’ children to encourage them to study hard.

“The amount is not big. The purpose is to encourage,” he said, exhorting the children to attain good results which he said would stand them in good stead in their working life.

“Hopefully in the near future, you will have much to contribute to the society,” he added.

Lau also advised parents to refrain from focusing overly on their children’s academic performance.

“Ensure your children have a good upbringing,” he said.

“Good education can give you good future, but even with good education, without good manners, I think it is a failure,” he added.

He observed that most children nowadays are glued to their phones and games rather than meal time or helping out in the household chores.

“Teach your children the importance of helping parents in the housework and to read more books,” he advised parents.

To the children, he said: “At home, apart from homework, help your parents in house work and read more books.”

“I hope children of our KTS staff will go for tertiary education.

“And, upon your graduation, you are welcome to join the KTS Group,” he said.

Also present at the function were club president Peter Lau, chairman Benny Lau and the incentives presentation organizing chairman Kevin Lau.
