KUALA LUMPUR: PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn Bhd ( PRPC UF), a subsidiary of Petronas, has signed an agreement with SPT Services Sdn Bhd to operate the Pengerang Integrated Complex’s (PIC) Solid Product Jetty ( SPJ).

Under the agreement, SPT Services, a wholly- owned subsidiary of Johor Port Bhd ( JPB), would provide operating equipment and systems to SPJ and manage the operations and maintenance of the jetty, said the national oil company in a statement yesterday.

“I am confident that SPT Services, with JPB’s guidance, will manage the operations of SPJ in an efficient, competitive and safe manner with continuous health, safety, security and environment ( HSSE) standards in the jetty’s daily operations,” said Petronas senior vice president and PRPC UF chairman, Ir Dr Colin Wong Hee Huing.

The SPJ, a tailor-made facility, was designed to manage the volume produced by PIC as well as to ensure the timely export of containerised polymer and sulphur to the market.

Apart from SPJ, the PIC also included the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development, Pengerang cogeneration plant, a liquefied natural gas re- gasification terminal, a raw water supply project, the Pengerang deepwater terminal, as well as the centralised and shared utilities and facilities. — Bernama
