Focus group meets on Song’s developmen­t

KAPIT: The Song District Developmen­t Focus Group met recently to discuss issues regarding the implementa­tion of government developmen­t projects.

Chaired by Song District Officer Jacklyn August, the meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Developmen­t Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is Kapit Member of Parliament.

“Some of the projects are housing aid, roads, and of course 1Azam aid. These projects were discussed in depth. It was a good meeting because the community leaders were also involved and also the relevant department­s, there were many of them present,” Nanta told reporters.

“A lot of issues need to be thrashed out so that the projects are implemente­d smoothly and understood by the people.”

Nanta also presented minor rural projects to the Song District Fire and Rescue Department Volunteers Club ( RM15,000), Katibas Sarawak United National Youth Organisati­on ( Saberkas) ( RM5,000), Song District Police Recreation­al Club ( RM5,000), and Rumah Japok Women’s Bureau ( RM5,000).
