Global infrastructure leaders to convene in Singapore

-

SINGAPORE: Bentley Systems Incorporated, a leading global provider of comprehensive software solutions for advancing infrastructure, will hold the Year in Infrastructure 2017 Conference from Oct. 10-12 in Asia for the first time.

The conference will take place at Sands Expo and Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands, a world-class hotel and conference facility, and one of the most iconic buildings in Asia. The Singapore location brings the conference to a city reognised globally for its innovation in infrastructure.

Greg Bentley, CEO, Bentley Systems, said, “I have long admired Singapore for its innovative use of technology in the delivery and operation of infrastructure, and now it is leading the world with its BIM advancements.

“In 2015, Singapore was designated the most ‘Tech-Ready Nation’ by The World Economic Forum’s Global Information Technology Report. In addition to Marina Bay Sands’ unrivaled conferencing facilities and luxurious accommodations is its spectacular structural design and engineering. We are proud to note that this extraordinary building was structurally engineered using Bentley Systems software.”

The structural design of the Marina Bay Sands was done by Arup and was the 2010 Be Inspired Award winner for Innovation in Structural Engineering.

Bentley Systems has contributed to the advancement of infrastructure in Southeast Asia over the years through many projects. Most recently, the Singapore Land Authority used Bentley software to create and maintain a highresolution 3D model of the entire country as part of its Smart Nation initiative.

The Year in Infrastructure 2017 Conference will include a new Alliance Partner Pavilion, featuring live application and technology presentations from Microsoft, Siemens, Topcon, and Bureau Veritas.

Attendees can meet with Bentley’s Alliance Partners to learn how we provide advanced solutions – whether it is leveraging reality modeling to converge engineering and inspection, connecting workflows for constructioneering, offering a best-in-class cloud strategy that encompasses private and public clouds and onpremises deployments, or enabling the digital enterprise by supporting open access to the IoT.

Jeannie Lim, executive director of conventions, meetings and incentive travel at the Singapore Tourism Board, a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry Singapore, said, “Several of Singapore’s iconic infrastructure, such as Marina Bay Sands, were designed and engineered using Bentley solutions.

“Therefore, it is fitting that Singapore has been chosen as the first Asian destination to host The Year in Infrastructure 2017 Conference. Additionally, Singapore recently topped Mercer’s 2017 Best City Infrastructure rankings out of more than 200 global cities.

“We look forward to welcoming Bentley colleagues, global industry thought leaders, journalists, and all conference delegates to Singapore to connect, share, and learn best practices.

“We hope that participants will have an enriching experience at the conference and take time to enjoy Singapore’s sights – from the historical National Gallery Singapore to the Gardens by the Bay – and experience the city’s culinary charm through our street food and Michelin-starred restaurants.”
