51 AMC students receive Academic Distinction Award
KUCHING: Asia Metropolitan College (AMC) Kuching awarded 51 of its students with the Academic Distinction Award during a simple ceremony at the college recently.
AMC chief executive Dr Irene Lau Meng Ing was on hand to present the award to outstanding students from six different programmes offered at AMC; all of whom obtained a Grade Point Average ( GPA) of 3.67 to 4.00 in their examination.
“This award is a sign of acknowledgement to our students due to their outstanding academic performances, thus inspiring them to keep on the track of excellence in the future,” she said in a statement issued by the college yesterday.
Lau also expressed her hope that these outstanding students can set a good example to other students and motivate them to rise together towards excellence.
During the ceremony, Bau-born student Abraham Proju David was recognised as the ‘ Top Achiever’ following his GPA of 4.00 for eight consecutive semesters at AMC Kuching.
“I never expected to be nominated as the ‘ Top Achiever’. All my hard work has finally paid off and I am also grateful to my lecturers, parents, course mates and friends for this honour,” said the Diploma in Physiotherapy student.
AMC is an associate institution of Asia Metropolitan University (AMU). It offers diploma programmes such as Diploma in Healthcare, Diploma in Environmental Health, Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, Diploma in Physiotherapy, Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, and Foundation in Health Sciences.
