at crowded places at all times,” he told reporters during his Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at his official residence here on Sunday.

Mazlan also pointed out that the there has yet to be a Sarawakian involved with Daesh militants in Marawi, Philippines.

On a separate matter, he said the death of a 12-year- old boy in a firecracker mishap at Kampung Bintawa Hilir here early Sunday morning was an isolated case, adding that the matter has been classified as sudden death.

He urged parents to be mindful of their children’s safety at all times, especially during the festive season as they ( parents) have the tendency to sometimes forget about what their children are doing.

The deceased, identified as Haiqal Hakim Zolpaka, succumbed to serious injuries to his head caused by a firecracker explosion around 12.15am.

Initial investigation revealed that the deceased was playing with firecrackers alone before the explosion happened.
