KAPIT: The installation of water storage tanks has been proposed for Kampung Genturong Sawang at Jalan Melekon here.

Pelagus Assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang said this should help to regulate water supply in the village, which currently experiences frequent water supply disruptions.

Dur ing a Ngi l ing Bid a i ceremony at Rumah Kasaw Panggil recently, Nyabong also encouraged residents to get their lands surveyed.

He explained the importance of having land titles, which could be used to apply for agricultural schemes such as rubber to bring in extra income.

“I will plan the N61 Pelagus development masterplan to expedite its development in terms of infrastructure and amenities for the benefit of the people,” he said.

Nyabong also advised the Genturong Sawang Vi l lage Security and Development Committee (JKKK) to identify land to build a multipurpose hall and recreational ground such as a futsal court.

He encouraged villagers to form a voluntary firefighters squad to help protect the village should a fire occur.

Nyabong also announced a minor rural project grant of RM35,000 for the JKKK and an RM5,000 grant for the Women’s Bureau.
