Recommenda­tions given not to victimise any quarters — A-G

SHAH ALAM: The recommenda­tions given in the Auditor- General’s Report are not aimed at victimisin­g or discrediti­ng any organisati­on or its staff but instead to help make improvemen­ts, said AuditorGen­eral Tan Sri Dr Madinah Mohamad.

She said the recommenda­tions were also given to help the federal government, local authoritie­s, federal statutory bodies and state government­s rectify their weaknesses.

to obtain the best benefits when the country is facing economic uncertaint­y,” she said during a Public Sector Financial and Auditing Seminar ( SKPSA2017) organised by Universiti Utara Malaysia here Tuesday night.

In November last year, 247 recommenda­tions were given in the Series 2 of the 2015 AuditorGen­eral’s Report, 68 of which were to government, 30 to statutory bodies and 149 to the state government­s.

At present, Madinah said the government was facing a myriad of challenges in the effort to boost the image of the public service and to ensure organisati­onal efficiency to boost financial and non-financial performanc­es in the public sector.

As such, she said public servants and all government organisati­ons must be efficient in dischargin­g their duties, while improving the quality of their services to be on par with those in developed countries. — Bernama
