Kenyalang Journalism Awards: Submit entries before July 15

MIRI: Journalist­s and photograph­ers who have yet to submit their entries to the Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2017, are to do so before July 15.

President of Federation of Sarawak Journalist­s Associatio­n (FSJA) Andy Jong Wan Joon, in a statement released yesterday, made the call for the entries to be submitted as soon as possible.

“The deadline applies to all categories except for Digital Economy Award which was suggested by Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Abang Openg, is extended until end of August. The new category opens to all journalist­s whose articles have been published this year (between February and August). The prize money for this category is fully sponsored by the state government,” Jong said.

This year’s KJA entry categories are Journalism Award (Feature and News Feature); News Reporting Award; Sports Reporting Award; Broadcast Journalism Award; Sustainabi­lity Journalism Award; Business and Economic Journalism Award; Community Well-Being and Rural Developmen­t Journalism Award; Photo Journalism Award and Photo Essay Award.

Meanwhile, winners of the Chief Minister Award will be chosen from the best articles from Journalism Award (Feature and News Feature) and News Reporting Award. All entries must be submitted to The Secretaria­t, Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2017, Angkatan Zaman Mansang (Azam Sarawak), Jalan Crookshank, 93000 Kuching, Sarawak before 4pm.
