New market in Desa Pujut 2, Permyjaya opens to traders

MIRI: Traders who have been allocated stalls at the Miri City Council’s new market in Desa Pujut 2, Permyjaya New township are allowed to start business anytime soon.

Miri deputy mayor councillor Julaihi Mohamad said the market which has been completed is offering a total of 44 stalls.

“I’ve been informed that the council has already interviewe­d the stall applicants.

“A total of 34 applicants have applied for the market licence. Now, the new market is already connected to electricit­y and water supply. Thus, the traders can move in to the new market to start their business activities,” he stated to the media when met during MCC’s meet-the-people session at Krokop 10 Market yesterday.

Julaihi was asked on the latest status regarding the new market which is yet to open for business although it has been completed a few years ago.

He said if the successful traders wanted to start their business activities at the new market, they could just inform the council’s officers.
