KOTA SAMARAHAN: A good cooperation between assemblymen and parliamentarians is crucial for the development of any constituency in the country.

Minister in Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said this practice was evident in her own parliamentary constituency of Batang Sadong.

Speaking to reporters at a ‘Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri’ event hosted by SK Haji Kelali parentteacher association (PTA) at Kampung Semera on Friday, she said she hoped that this cooperation would continue not only in Batang Sadong, but everywhere else too.

On this, she was proud to say that her working relationship with the elected state representatives in her area, including Sadong Jaya assemblyman Aidel Lariwoo, could be an example to others.

“Our areas have been enjoying development, thanks to our good partnership as elected representatives here. Both me and him (Aidel) always strive to put the needs of our constituents first before anything else,” she said.

Meanwhile, Aidil said the people of Batang Sadong and Sadong Jaya should be grateful for having a very committed leader like Nancy, who always cares for her constituents and includes them in her development plans.

“As assemblyman, I always do my best in giving my cooperation to the MP of my area. The secret to our successful relationship lies in our willingness to always communicate with each other,” he said.

Nancy has been Batang Sadong MP for two terms, beginning with her win in the 2008 general election.

Batang Sadong comprises the state constituencies of Sadong Jaya, Simunjan and Gedong.
