Rayong rallies support for Nyalau to be fielded as BN candidate for Lubok Antu in GE14

-

Engkilili assemblyman Dr Johnichal Rayong Ngipa has urged his constituents to rally behind Lubok Antu MP Datuk William Nyalau Badak so as to provide him a greater chance to be renominated as a candidate by Barisan Nasional ( BN) in the next general election (GE14).

He said Nyalau had been his ‘ team- mate and best unofficial campaign manager’ in the elections that he contested in thus far.

Rayong, who is United People’s Party ( UPP) Youth chief, was also confident of Nyalau’s loyalty to BN, saying that the MP had a good track record in serving the people in Lubok Antu.

“YB Datuk Nyalau has been my close team-mate. He also assisted me in carrying out various development projects such as bringing in water and electricity supply and feeder roads to all areas in our constituencies.

“Therefore, continue to support him ( Nyalau) in the coming parliamentary elections,” Rayong said when officiating at the closing of Gawai Dayak at the Skrang Resettlement Scheme Area on Saturday.

Nyalau also spoke at the function, where he urged the people to be aware of negative elements that were out to create disunity in Lubok Antu.

“Rumour has it that I will not be standing as a BN candidate in the GE14, but the BN has never told me that this is so. Until there is a ‘black and white’, do not believe in rumours.

“Besides, YB Dr Johnical Rayong Ngipa and I can work together as a BN team. We always complement each other in developing our constituencies and in elevating the livelihood of our people. We have been working closely together to carry out wishes of the BN in developing Engkilili for the wellbeing of its people,” he stressed.

The event was attended by people from all walks of life – among them longhouse chieftains and Chinese Kapitans from Engkilili.

At the function, Rayong granted RM10,000 to the event organising committee and pledged a similar sum to the scheme area’s security and development committee (JKKK).
