KUCHING: Plenty of drama unfolded as all teams played their Position Round matches for the 189 & Below competition of the Tay Motors Trios League at Megalanes Sarawak, E-Mart Batu Kawa last Sunday.

Tay Motors, anchored by Ang Kean Joo with Jonathan Tchee (captain), Jackie Ting and Robert Lu registered a 14- 6 win over Triple-X ( Ryan Lanyu, Idarie Ibrahim, Kevin Yeo) to win the league.

They claimed more honours by grabbing the Team High Game ( Handicap) award with their total of 808 pins and the Team High Series ( Handicap) award with the total of 2,546 pins.

Ang also grabbed the Individual High Series ( Handicap) award when he registered a total of 924 pins over four games.

The most thrilling moment came when Jackie Ting scored a perfect game in the second game, thus earning the Individual High Game ( Handicap) award.

Everyone stopped in their steps when Jackie took a shot at the ‘Strike & Ride’ challenge, which required 12 consecutive strikes and another one in the new game.

As Jackie stepped up for the approach, everyone in the venue held their breath.

But luck wasn’t on his side as Pin 6 stood between him and the challenge prize of a new Yamaha motorcycle.

Nonetheless, Jackie pocketed RM539 from the Megalanes Happy Box prize as reward for his perfect game.

There was more drama when Alexiss O’Neill of Fighters 17 recorded nine strikes in a row but could not repeat his feat on the 10th frame.

Tension ran high in the match between Week 7 leaders Elite 2 (Alfred Chong, Eric Chong and Willie Chung) and Bolehla ( Nur Hazirah Ramli, Angelo Koay and Gordon Tsen) as the scores were very close. Eventually, Elite 2 managed to finish as runners-up with their 11- 9 victory.

Triple-X ended their campaign in fourth place.
