Rep: 24 RTP projects in Batu Danau this year

-

LIMBANG: At least 24 development projects under the Rural Transformation Programme ( RTP) costing a total of RM5-million will be implemented in Batu Danau constituency this year to improve the rural folks’ quality of life.

Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang said the projects are testimonies of the government’s continued efforts to bring development to the people so as to reduce the gap between the urban and rural areas.

“Among the projects are roads including building new ones and upgrading the existing roads and other minor rural projects such as construction of futsal court and community hall,” he said yesterday when met during a gotong royong to repair a senior citizen’s house by Saberkas Batu Danau at Lubuk Bidai near here.

Also participating in the programme organised jointly by Saberkas Empat Kampung ( Kampung Tanjong Riman, Tanjong Darat, Pangkalan Gurah and Lubuk Bidai) were Paulus’ wife Mary Sindang; chairman of Saberkas Empat Kampung Ekit Awang and members of Saberkas Batu Danau.

Paulus said besides the RTP projects, the Federal Government through its Projek Mesra Rakyat ( PMR) also implemented various minor rural projects such as upgrading of roads, suraus and churches.

On the delayed rural water supply project from the junction of Ukong to Medamit, Paulus said work on the project is scheduled to resume end of next month.

He hoped there would be no further delay and urged subcontractors of the project to be proactive especially in ensuring that there are readily available materials for the project.

Senior citizen Inap Injan, 73 from Lubuk Bidai can now feel relief that her dilapidated house built more than 30 years ago has been repaired during the gotong royong by members of Saberkas Batu Danau.
