KUCHING: SMK Petra Jaya is inviting members of the public to its ‘Ekspo Badan Beruniform dan Karnival Kelab’ ( Uniformed Body Expo and Club Carnival) to be held on July 29.
According to the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) secretary Mat Arif, the inaugural event is collaboration between the school and the association.
In a statement, he said the expo will give exposure and chances to the students to gain more knowledge, thinking skills, leadership skills, dual-language speaking skills, and a greater sense of national identity as well as foster good ethics, relationships and humanitarian values.
During the expo, the students will display artworks and exhibition content related to the uniformed unit they are members of.
There will also be demonstrations of camping and first aid as well as other club and association activities for visitors.
Food sales, a sale for pre-loved items and new books and clothes, and a lucky draw will be held during the expo.
There will be 33 exhibition sites available during the expo.
“We welcome parents, students and family members to come to the expo and carnival,” Mat said, adding that they can spend time together while at the same time contribute towards and support the school and PTA by buying the food and drinks.
All the proceeds from the sales will be distributed by the PTA to SMK Petra Jaya uniformed units, clubs and associations for their activities
