School transforma­tion briefing to get feedback from parents

MIRI: SMK Dato’ Permaisuri ( SMKDP) held a 2025 School Transforma­tion Briefing (TS25) for parents at the school recently.

Principal Haslinda Jeni said the programme was aimed to get input from parents and members of the public on the implementa­tion of TS25 by the Ministry of Education Malaysia ( MoE).

“The TS25 programme is an effort to improve students’ enrolment and quality of schooling. It applies the best practices in school management and classroom education in line with the aspiration­s of the Malaysian Education Developmen­t Plan ( PPPM) 2013-2025,” she said in a statement to the media.

Haslinda said in a bid to ensure the success of the TS25 programme, parental cooperat ion from Parental Support Group ( KSIB), Parent-Teacher Associatio­n (PTA) and the community are important to ensure students’ potential can be developed.

This programme involved par tnerships with Form 4 students acting as ambassador­s of SMKDP - an example of emotional expectatio­n through effective and interestin­g learning and teaching ( PdP) process.

“Our hope is for students to communicat­e wel l, have the confidence to speak and converse in front of the audience and be more knowledgea­ble, be bilingual and have self- esteem, ethics and good values,” she said.

At the same event, the school also held a SMKDP 2017 Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri to strengthen the unity of students and the multiracia­l communitie­s they live in.

Counc i l lor Ar i e s L eong representi­ng Piasau assemblyma­n Datuk Sebastian Ting was present.
