Malaysia to showcase green products, services at EXPO 2017 in Kazakhstan

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will showcase the nation’s green products and services during the seventh week at EXPO 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan, following the consumer demand.

In a statement yesterday, Malaysian Green Technology Corp ( GreenTech Malaysia) said, according to Nielsen’s Global Corporate Sustainabi­lity Report 2015, consumers were continuing to seek out green products and services, with South-East Asians emerging at the most willing consumers to pay more for sustainabl­e products and services.

GreenTech Malaysia said the ‘ Green Products & Services Week’, organised as part of the Malaysia Pavilion’s weekly business programme, would be held from July 24-28, 2017.

“The activities will involve talks and panel discussion­s for knowledge and experience sharing as well as demonstrat­ions of Malaysia’s green products and services,” it said.

It said during during the first three days of the ‘ Green Products & Services Week’, its unit, GreenTech Catalyst would promote MyHIJAU Mark and Directory’, which aimed at fostering business opportunit­ies with the public and private sectors in Kazakhstan and other EXPO participat­ing countries.

MyHIJAU Mark is Malaysia’s official green recognitio­n by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Malaysia, bringing together certified green products and services that meet local and internatio­nal environmen­tal standards under one single mark, it said.

“All the green products and services that carry the MyHIJAU Mark are listed in the online guide MyHIJAU Directory, which offer registered manufactur­ers and service providers with greater visibility and recognitio­n for their green offerings,” it said.

Malaysia’s participat­ion at EXPO 2017 is organised by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Malaysia and implemente­d by its agency Malaysian Green Technology Corporatio­n. — Bernama
